The FEVA package is made up of three components. These three components address the naturally sequential tasks required to model a structural/multi-physics problem. Visisage creates the raw mesh and element data from a solid model. SageView is a pre and post processor that enables a seamless interactive preparation of the rest of the FE model data. Sage is the solver engine that performs a linear/nonlinear FEA. Though these programs are divided for convenience, they share a common database. This allows the user to move from one to the other in a seamless manner. VisiSage is a semi-automatic hexahedral mesh generator. It is based on integrating the ACIS solid modeler with some proprietary developed mesh generation Finite Element Technology. VisiSage includes an automatic tetrahedral mesh generator. It has been enhanced by adding the capability to generate hexahedron elements by automatic subdivision of tetras. VisiSage is also available as a stand-alone program. In the current version 1.7, we have developed an interface with IGES. The IGES interface allows us to communicate with all other CAD programs. The SageView pre and post processor allows for visual completion of the meshed model using solid model entities. The use of solid model entities extend to post processing, which makes it easy to view surface results. Post-processing of results can begin as soon as an increment of load has been completed. The SAGE linear and nonlinear program is mainly based on hexahedral Lagrange Elements. The automatic control of load increments simplifies the analysis of large displacement and/or nonlinear material problems. The program has an integrated family of shells that enables a mesh model to be created and analysed as a surface of a solid model. The current version has an adaptive h and p mesh refinement feature. Heat transfer and fluid flow elements provide interaction in multi-physics problems. Products and Pricing The product is licensed in two versions with the same functionality. The manufacturer's suggested list price is based on U.S.$ and a fully paid up license on a per seat basis. The personal version is restricted to a mesh of 45,000 nodes. It assumes that the user prefers to use software that is priced for minimum interaction with the developers after the initial learning phase. The personal version provides for 60 days support and a one time update. The professional version is unlimited in size. It provides for attendance at the company's regularly scheduled 1 day course. It provides for a year's support. Further support, update and enhancement will be provided at a price of 20% /year of the lease price.
